There's really not that much to say during my first day of fanime 2009. I was stuck studying for a midterm in Differential Equations that was at 7:30 AM everything finished at 12:20 PM, then hastily packed for the weekend until somewhere around 5 PM, which then I really arrived at con and picked up my badge around 6 PM or so. At that point I had missed both Momo-i's panel, "Path of the Otaku", and pretty much spent the remainder unpacking in the room I was staying in and prepped my goods for Swap Meet.
After just a quick hour of BlazBlue on the HAPP stick parts in the Arcade (I like my Sanwa/Hori Buttons...), I lined up for Swap Meet. It was about 10 minutes before placement that I realized I didn't have anything for Momo-i to sign tomorrow. I loved the Nurse Witch Komugi series that I saw a while back (BIGSIGHTOTRON!!!) and planned to own it eventually, so I managed to run to the dealer's hall, buy the complete collection for 30$. Surprised not everything Momo-i was inflated; in reality I don't think the dealers even realized who was there.
Getting through the line and the paperwork was a quick process, and in the end I specially requested a wall space. I find the islands in the center to be too vulnerable, and I like having a space in front of me to work with.
That said, I put on my red bandanna and got to work.
To be honest, I had been planning for this sale since last year, so random things I saw on sale were what I had. As Califonia law states, I qualify as an "Occassional Seller" since I only sell at most twice every year.
Chun's Side Selling Notes:
-Honestly I'm somewhat bummed I missed the "Fate: Unlimited Codes" (Read As: The Game Capcom Made To Laugh At You With) tournament at 8PM (Swap Meet started at 8:30PM), but this money fueled my weekend, so I was quite content.
- PVCs must be the hardest thing to sell at a meet, due to their value. I also realized posters are something that fly away quickly if they look good enough (A Gravion stick poster of Mizuki Tachibana sold for 4. I'm convinced it was because of the breasts).
-My Co-Seller, ININ, was cosplaying as Edward Elric. His pitch? "Help Ed find the Philosopher's Stone! Buy something today!"
Looking pretty relaxed there, Ed. We both made a killing.
Next up: Day 2, Momo-i Preparation, Masquerade, and BlazBlue official Rank Battles!
