Game Rice: Goodbye, OGP. Hello, NTreev + What NTtreev Should Include in the Move

Today, according to PST (My home area time), is the last day before the server shutdown on OGPlanet after 3 years. I've been there since its first legs on closed beta; a little more than 3 years ago, and now it's off tomorrow.

I spent some of my time today taking photos of my characters before seeing them again tomorrow in their new home.

Knowing Sweatdrop is probably going to build some steam and write that lengthy post he was planning to write tomorrow, I will probably fashion something similar in a worst case scenario. I'm extremely grateful for Ntreev's move to import data from the previous server, but at the same time I'm concerned.

These 3 years of item collection; a lot of memories, from the first time I bought a Rebel Glove for my Hana, after buying her and working Scout to get the funds for her. That feeling of finally obtaining something happened again after the Kooh release; the Amateur E ribbons that I finally obtained, not for the curve slots, but just her trademark look.

It's because of this I'm worried for what exactly is imported. We have:

Data (Best Scores, Rank, EXP)
Pang
Closet Goods (Outfits, etc.)

The smart move, in my opinion, is to reset the pang, import rank data (But not the score data due to the hacker situation), and move all the closet goods.

Why reset the pang? What broke OGP? Pang economies that made prices impossible; the feeling of helplessness as people tried to obtain basic rare necessities.

Why exclude scores? I know people that worked hard for their results. However, if the choice was made to either keep high scores amongst a hacker era, or start fresh with others towards aiming high once more; I hope most of you would agree with the latter.

Closet goods are irreplaceable. They are the lifeblood of the game after all; if you're not aiming for the score, you're making your characters look cool/cute. When all of it is lost, how many people will want to continue and rebuild when they've done so much already?

NTreev, as of 3:30 PM PST, has still yet to announce their decisions, and OGP is acting like it never owned it in the first place. All we can do is wait.

In the mean time, I've been playing a game called Grand Chase under the NTreev name. It's a very entertaining multiplayer platforming and collection game. As usual, my username there is Chun.

Best wishes to all of us Pangya fans in the future. More posts to come after the move.

Hi,

I agree with the pang reset, but not with the rank reset. If the closet stuff is to be moved, there are some items you could not use if you are not certain level high, therefore, making your items unavailable for some time, at least while you level up. This will upset some players, but on the other hand, will make them work harder to reach such levels and use their outfits again.

I'm not fussed.

I prefer everything to go smoothly, but if it doesn't I'm not worried because at least pangya is available to play in english. of course it's going to suck because most if not all of my friends won't continue if the data transfer fails :(
